Firstly, this is not meant to be a thread where everyone gets angry and nasty.
Whilst watching Strictly Come Dancing, my Mum said:
"I can't believe Andy Murray's mum got through!"
To which I replied:
"I guess all the Scottish viewers are voting for her?"
In the X Factor, Louis Walsh always says (to the relevant act):
"You've got the whole of Ireland / Scotland / Wales voting for you" and "Wales / Ireland / Scotland, pick up the phone and vote for (name)".
Is all that true? As a southern English fellow, I never really feel the need to support someone who is English in these shows (possibly because there is not one person from England but many) and would possibly only vote for someone who I knew or was from my local community (although, I never waste money on voting so even then...) if I felt the need.
I guess I'm saying that I never feel the need to support someone English, is it different for Scottish / Irish / Welsh people or is it all TV hype?
