Just coming up to 16 years living in the same house, 15 at the previous one. Before that two 5 year career moves.

Always been happy living in those locations but very settled in current house.

On balance would rather be back in NZ but happy with the house we've got here. Rural with good views and close to town and 20 mins from the club so all good.

Oh yes.

Anfield within 25 mins (matchday traffic).
Local boozers and restaurants within 10 minutes walk
City centre within 15 minutes.
Work within 25 minutes.
Home course within 10 minutes (shame it's not closer to Hillside, S and A,Formby etc)
Formby, Wallasey,Hillside,West lancs, Delamere and other top class courses all within 35 minutes.
Seaside, Welsh mountains, lake district, peak district all within 1 hr 30.

I lived in rented accom with mates and moved about 5 times in 8 years, so happy now that 90% of work is done on the house and a big extension finished last month. I've lived here for 10 years, nice area, nice chippy (always a bonus) and couldn't be happier.

I've also had a 7 foot pool table just recently put in the new extension (she got a lovely kitchen).

I also live in the UK, at least for now.......:)

Like the village we're in. 2 minutes from the golf club, 15 from the Town Centre. Central between Manchester and Liverpool. An hour away from the Lake District. We've a nice small house that's virtually paid for. Great rural views at the back and not overlooked at all.
In the future, maybe a move when work finally dries up. I fancy down south on the coast, but maybe Spain.

It's ok. I miss home though. The missus got home sick so we moved from my place in Suffolk, to Urban surrey (more or less outer London) about 6 years ago. I don't mind it, very busy and very expensive though.

I love Tring and our home. Our house is getting a little to small and I would move so long as we stay in Tring as I would like my beautiful girl to go to School here. Working close by is great too, 15 mins...

Watford is a dump, but I never go there.

I like my house it's plenty big enough, well designed, And I've been there for 15 years. It isn't overlooked, and 2 minutes from my door I can be out running in the countryside.

I would like to live by the sea sometime though.

Been in my gaff 7 years, 34 years in the area! I live under a mile from where I was born!

Need a bigger house now, so looking to move ASAP, but the bank hold cards on this one!

Love the area, however my daughter is very allergic to mould and damp spores, our house is fine, but it's the area. Mould and damp spores are commonly found in woodlands, brilliant when I live in leafy Berkshire! So we at seriously considering a move to the coast for her health. Doesn't matter where I live for work as I travel or work from home.

Yes - but not really - and been here for 17yrs.

Life is far too expensive down here and a lot of folks are right up themselves with material stuff, schooling, holidays etc etc etc. That said I live in a lovely old market town, lovely countryside on our doorstep, 35miles from Central London, 35 miles from the south coast, handy for Heathrow and Gatwick, and great golf courses - but all that makes it expensive expensive. Close local friends - I have a few - but then again - too few to mention. So I'd move back to Scotland tomorrow - but my kids are at uni in Sheffield and Manchester and so my wife wants to move to Derbyshire or South Yorkshire. Which we will do - in abut 4-5 yrs time. Means I just might be able to pay off my mortgage and live again.

Love London but it's a with a view to an end - if I do 3 or four years working for a limited company in The City (well Holborn) the theory goes that doors should open up just about anywhere I want to look! I'm pushing for Spain, Portugal or South of France but I think I'll have trouble convincing HID to settle down properly anywhere but Wroclaw - still Toya golf course looks brilliant but Polish Winters aren't good for golf!

Yep - love it. Been here for 11 years now and the best move we ever made. Small village and very quiet and rural - just how we like it. Only amenity is a pub and small village "shoppe" which we once popped into for a load of bread and never returned!! Back of house leads onto The Three Shires Way so great for walking and cycling plus nothing between us and the next village 3m away - except for some crops and horses.

The house suits us well and was new when we moved in so pretty much maintenance-free which is also just how we like it. Golf course is 10 minutes drive. Only downside is not being able to get a pizza delivery on a Saturday night but the oven works just fine :)

Not massively but haven't got many other options at the moment.

Moved down here for work and have 'settled' in Ealing after brief stints in New Cross and Clapham. Everything is far too expensive for my liking and miss my family back home. Really close to the club though which is a bonus.

Will see how job stuff pans out but been looking for something else for the last couple of months and if nothing comes up by Christmas think I will seriously consider going back up t'north to be closer to everyone. I'm not yet earning a salary that justifies the move down here (albeit in a cool industry) and there's not too many opportunities for improvement in my company. Would be better off financially, and probably also on a personal level, going back home and saving up a few grand to clear some uni debt rather than paying out a fortune each month to be down here - see rent/ownership thread ...

After moving around quite a bit when we were younger, we eventually ended up back in the village were i was born, infact 2 minutes walk from were me dear old mum still lives. Been back 10 yrs now and love it.
We have two good pubs, a general store and a good chippy. Ten minutes we're in Bury, 30 to Manchester, 5 on the golf course. Go out the back garden gate and we're in the West Pennine Moors, so even the dog loves it.
Can't see us moving anytime soon, but if we had to i guess it would be a toss up between Todtmoos in Germany, a wonderful place, simply gorgeous, or Newtonmore in Scotland, my granddads home "town", many happy summer hols when i was a kid.

Moving to a new development on the other side of Bracknell and to be honest it's like a brand new town, there are so many houses there. The house we are buying is five minutes away from a huge countryside area to walk or ride around in the summer and will be ideal if/when we adopt. We had to work hard to get the plot we wanted but now we have we are set to live for a long time.

We've been in our current place sixteen years. Again we have loads of open space nearby and it is away from Bracknell in a nice village type atmosphere. Lovely old fashioned country pub ten minutes away. Been really lucky

Love it.

Sea is about 400yards from my front door.

Town is lovely and a great place to bring up my girls.

Not much work around so I have to travel a fair bit but happily do so to live here.

Moved about 15 months ago and got the work on the house finished so it is perfect for us, will take a lot for me to move from here.

It does help to be so close to so many nice golf courses aswell :)
