After a recent score discrepancy/dispute it would have been useful if I had a copy of my scorecard at home in front of me to check what was submitted.

I might take a quick photo of it next time before handing it in. Anyone else do that? Or simply write out a second card?

I occasionally set the buggy to email a copy to me but not a whole lot of point for the purpose you outline (a second card is as likely to contain an error)
A pic might have set your mind to rest sooner but it wouldn't change the facts (whichever way the error occurred)

nope, double check my score on each hole with the person marking my card and vise versa and the computer keeps a record of the score online and the club have the card.

No, I can always pretty much remember the round the next day, but, if i have a decent card i always check the hole by hole score with my marker so it's only going to be an addition/points problem anyway

Not really, I sometimes use golfshot to keep track but I honestly always end up just putting the good rounds on which makes it pointless.

In terms of comps I just check my scores before signing the card, what happened in your case? I guess something like this is possible at our place where the pro shop take the cards and do the score entry onto HDID.

Hole 19 app on my phone. I use the samsung gear smart watch with the hole 19 app to record my scores and double up as a gps watch. The app records all your scorecards. Give you fairways hit %, scrambling %, GIR, putting average ect.

It gives you the individual stats for each round then it willl give you the average stats of how many rounds you have played in total. You can also filter it to show your stats over the last 20 rounds and last 5 rounds also.

I enter mine on a spreadsheet when I get home. I can normally remember every shot of my last round until I've played again, my brain seems to overwrite my memory of earlier rounds.

20 years of rounds stored with fairways hit, GRs, putts, up and downs etc. Also track good/average/bad swings so I can see swing %. Over 3,000 rounds now in there.

Next goal: To get a life.

Yes.

My friends think I'm very sad, but I have a big spreadsheet.
I'll take a photo of my scorecard before handing it in (if a comp, if friendly i'll take it home) and I'll input my round.

It tells me average over par per hole, cumulative average score for the year, average for the last 3 rounds, colour coded for eagle, birdie, par, bogey, DB, TB, QB, Stableford points, ground conditions, playing partners+ ...plenty of info! As I write this I realise I'm missing a graph, hmm best get that sorted!

It doesn't specify which areas of my game need improvement (eg, fairways hit, greens hit, scrambling, # of putts etc) but it shows me improvement and which holes I can go for with confidence and which I should perhaps be conservative on.

I started it last year when we were playing a local 9 hole course to help determine how many shots to give as we were improving without an official handicap. Now that I've joined a club I have an official handicap, but it was easy enough to copy the template over and track my progress.

It's just the sort of person I am

When I first started I did and I had loads. A pal told me it would not not last, it didn't. But I have saved my best ever scorecard and lovingly gaze at it every so often.
That aside I cannot remember writing the wrong score down on a card as after every hole I ask what was shot and write it down. Yesterday a pal had me down for 31 points when I had 32 he had put me down for 1 point on a par four where I had 2 shots and shot a six. Always double check.

We have a mini league set up between my normal golf group. So we track all our cards...we take a photo of each one at the end of the match send it to our whats app group and someone (usually me) updates the spreadsheet and calculates the league scores. We get points for birdies and chip ins and we use those vegas chips for water and trees shots etc...its sounds complicated but is hilarious! :) plus we track our form in terms of we calculate our own handicaps for the previous rounds so we can see how well each of us is actually performing...much bickering ensues :D lol
