I've always hovered and figured most others did too.

With adjustable Drivers, it seems to be slightly more important that the club is set appropriately at address.

Which do you do?

Rest... I've tried hovering, and whilst it didn't make any real difference to the results, I didn't feel like I was relaxed enough before starting the backswing. Probably just me though...

Rest. Hovering seemed to make me snatch the club away in the backswing - which it is meant to alleviate :(

Don't rest it when taking my grip but it will be rested before it I pull the trigger, so its just the psychological thing of grounding the club before the off.

I set it on the ground at address then lift and hover prior to starting my backswing. Changed to this two years ago to try and get a smoother takeaway.... not sure if it helps TBH!

Can you explain this further?!

On the bottom of the club is the adjustable sole plate, so you may chose to have it set to closed. when you rest the club on the ground it will sit correctly in the closed position you have set. you could do this by hovering still, but at least this is a consistent way of at least starting each swing the same.

I rest it on the ground square to where I think my target line is before I take my grip.

Dr. Bob recommends you take your grip before you approach the ball but I can't do it that way round, I need the reassurance of seeing the face square before I'll believe my grip is right.

Tee ball.
Practice swing, maybe two.
Ground my club behind ball, align it, align me, grip it, lift it slightly and....... swing.
Don't/can't jiggle.
