Ah, is there a time limit on how long you can stop there for.

Yes, which is another reason why my club says it won't open it and when they do, all those comps on those given days are automatically non-qualifying

Robin, can I start the debate, or would you rather wait for a few more people to get involved?

Sorry Chellie, I'm not being ignorant, I just don't want to stand on Robin's toes. Especially when you consider that he's trained to kill with just a matchstick and a conker....:D

Not a half way hut but a sort of buggy that the club spent a fair bit on kitting out a couple of years ago.

I have not seen it at all this year and when it was not many used it.

Really? Been a member of more than one club where you stop halfway for a drink/sausage sandwich, never made any of their comps non-qualifying thats for sure, think some one is twisting a rule to strengthen their case

Only open at week-ends and I wish it wasn't due to its effect upon pace of play.

Seems ridiculous imo. Mens comps at our are qualifiers when it's open. HimID says most just grab a brew and/or butty and eat on the go though. Us women are allowed to go to the loo in comps (charge off after the 9th, vist loo and run to the 10th in most cases) so what's the difference:confused:

I'm still interested in the amount of used and not used halfway houses out their, but, I am ready (or Danny might) throw a spanner in the works ;)

Like yours it's rarely open, pros day, captains day etc. one enterprising young chap took it on last year, he rarely had power, when he did he ran out of cups!!:o

He couldn't make it work, shame really.

If you go somewhere that does it well, it's something to look forward to.

we come back to the clubhouse after 12 and have sausage sandwiches etc in the spike bar. only open weekends till 11.30 and not when comps are on.

its compulsory to stop there when its open. most who play weekend mornings are very much in favour of it.

Best bacon roll at a halfway hut this year was Hindhead. Four rashers, all the fat cut off, and the roll lightly grilled. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm god I'm hungry

There is one that used to be open at weekends and other arranged days (to suit the Ladies/Seniors). It wasn'r run by the club, but by an ex club employee - so much lower overheads.

When she properly retired (well, that was the story) club tried to run it for a while, but not enough business. Even a run around buggy didn't get much trade.

Loo was around the back, but 'for Ladies use only'!

and if you did that, would you still stop, sit down if available and consume everything, even though the 10th was free to play?
It works ok at places like bearwood, if you stop and the group behind don't let them play through. We're all grown ups we should be able to work it out.

I'd eat mine on the move anyway.

Our hut is open during every qualifier as well !

The halfway hut doesn't really effect the speed of play that much

Would you do that in a medal also?

I'd use it almost every round if we had one.
They implemented a Saturday morning phone an order into the kitchen, but every time I've tried it no-one answered!
