Do you have a halfway hut and is it open all the time?

We have a hut but it is never open other than for specific days for the Captains Day, Pro's Day, Presidents Day and maybe 1 or 2 others when they put food & drink on, otherwise its closed!

Its just had a few thousand pounds spent on it for refurbishment and yet it is little used. I have been informed they wont franchise it out for fear of losing revenue in the bar afterwards (the steward is targeted, possibly with a bonus at risk)! They won't man it as they believe it won't be cost effective (the secretary is bonus targeted), yet in my 2 years I have never seen this attempted!

Our bar and kitchen does not open until 11am by the way

They have recently left a kettle in it but when I have been in recently, there is either no milk or even cups!

I've played at some 30 new courses this year and I can count on one hand the one's that didn't have a halfway house of sorts and that was mainly because of the design and layout of the course.

So, I think we have the poshest toilets in Warwickshire, which are part of the halfway hut at the rear, what do you have, hopefully my polls will work to offer multiple questions.

We have a hut which is open at weekends and only if the weather is good, she does a mean bacon butty even if it does take 9.5 of the allotted 10 minutes to get hold of it after she chats your ear off!

On the toilet front, not so hot, a portaloo is the best it gets and that is only a recent addition

At one place yes but the food isn't great and only open at weekends

At the other is wonderful with fresh cooked buttys

No halfway hut, we do have a toilet block though. It has a code entry door, but the code is about 12 numbers long and I can't remember it for the love of all that is holy... I suppose I don't have to worry about comps being non-qualifiers though, eh Robin..;)

Our hut is just being refurbished, so that you can sit inside in the winter. It is also being taken back into the hands of the Club, and the quality of the food should be the same as in the clubhouse. I was only using it for drinks over the last few years, but look forward to being able to get a decent bacon roll again.:whoo:

Nope we don't half one but we pass the clubhouse from the 8th green to the 9th tee and you can use the hatch at the kitchen and grab a bacon sandwich/drink on the way or you can phone and order it in before you tee off on the 8th and it will be ready to collect when you walk to the 9th tee.

We have one and I believe it's a 2 shot penalty if you don't stop on your way past!
We have one on each course and they are not staffed all off the time, Its a very expensive business keeping it open and staffed all off the time. I think they should just put vending machines on them and empty them daily but that is just my opinion.

we have one that you cross through from 1-2, 12-13 so not quite halfway! only ever open at weekends, quite good to get a coffee after the 1st then a bacon buttie and hour or so later!

It isn't mate. Honest.. It's a little rule conversation that myself, Robin and a few on here have had recently regarding the use of halfway huts during competition. It was quite a surprise to most of us..

Ah, is there a time limit on how long you can stop there for.
