Do you had any injury coursed by playing Golf? what type of injury did you have? and for how long did the injury last and what treatment did you have to heal the injury.

Personally i havent had any serious injury, but this last week i have pain in my left shoulder and it doesnt get any btter. So i have contact an physiotherapist... will see if and when i get an appointment and if it can be helpful.. Anyway i have at least 4 months for recovering before seasons starts again.......

Hi!

The worst thing I suffer from is blisters. During the summers holidays, 36 holes + 200 ish balls on the range, for 4 weeks solid!

I once hit a shot, and hit a tree root, I was out for a few weeks ( I missed the ball and hit the tree :( )

Separated shoulder muscles (Hit in the neck by a sliced drive)
Torn elbow tendons (repetitive strain injury)

I'm apparently not shatterproof!!!!

Golfers elbow , boy that was very painfull , My GP or the guy covering for him poked around to find the most painfull spot and gave me a steroid injection on the very spot and no bother since .............EYG

Tennis Elbow, QL Strain, Slipped Ribs (more than once) plus the usual lower back aches and pains. Currently have a torn rotator cuff which was not caused by golf but can be aggravated by it.

See an osteopath (who specialises in golf related injuries) every couple of months or sooner if I break something.

Plan to be (or feel) bomb proof by the time I finish Insanity :-)

Agreed that overall good fitness and in particular a strong core helps keep injuries at bay. I'd love to be more gymnastic!!

My slipped ribs were overuse but also losing my temper and wildly swinging the club at fresh air - I don't do that anymore...

Sliced a hole in the palm of my hand a couple of months ago getting a 7 iron out of my bag. A few holes previously I had used the same club but didn't realise that I had hit a stone. This caused the chrome finish to peel back on the toe of the club. The chrome went in like a knife when I put my hand onto it. Hurt like he'll at the time but luckily the chrome never stayed in my hand. Bled lots too for a smallish cut.

My brain hurt the other day when I made a quadruple bogey on 11 when only one over par.

Ligament and nerve damage here

Playing the ball from an unrepaired divot. Club snagged and wretched my wrist. I was away from playing for on and off 6 months of last season.

I still get trouble with it now but is much easier to manage.

That's mental pain , being married is the same thing hehe ............EYG

Prior to starting to play golf I used to see an Osteopath monthly for neck and shoulder problems. Haven't needed to see him since I started playing.

Made a classic mistake on Saturday morning. Turned up for tee off 10 minutes early with my playing partner with a 4 ball in front. The 4 ball kindly asked if we wanted to tee off first so we weren't held up and it was too kind an offer to turn down.

No warm up, straight off with 2 or 3 practice swings :fore:

On my third hit, still cold, I pulled my back :o

Struggled through the 18 holes but paid for it later as my back started to seize up.

I made it into work yesterday, worked through the pain but today I woke up at 05-00 and could hardly move. I'll probably make it into work but will suffer the consequences

Just this year I've had lower back pain that took me out for about 4 weeks for the first time and 3 weeks when it re-occurred.

It was caused by a swing change from my pro. Not his fault, mine for doing it wrong. He was trying to get me to shift my weight forward more in the downswing, but the way I was doing it caused my upper body to tilt backwards and compress my lower back on the right hand side, then I'd turn through. So it just compressed my lower back on one side and tore something

Oddly enough it's probably the best I've driven the ball in years. But I was in agony after 18 holes.
