Do you ever video your swing so you can see it for yourself?

Do you video your swing?

Bought the 3bay GSA Pro the other day, it has the option to sync you live video with what it reads from the device, real handy. Also my camera has a slow mo option so I can video my swing on that and see what's going on.

Many of my lessons involve video and I also now have an "e-book" where video/lesson commentary is available to me (very useful).

I sometimes video myself but only usually if I'm struggling with one element or another in the swing.

I've seen it video-d a few times when having a lesson but I don't do it. Its not changed in 10yrs. Its not something I like to look at because it doesn't resemble anything I've seen on TV.... apart from the odd horror movie...

Occasionally. I'm very consistent, in that what my swing feels like is, in reality, nothing like what I'm doing.

Yup, do it to see if the things im working on are going correctly or not. Got loads of videos on my phone of different swings with different clubs.

I even bought a camcaddy to make it easier for recording instead of having to try balence my phone on my bag to record.

Yep, I use a Joby Gorillapod for smartphones to mount my S3, just really like to see if my posture is ok, elbows are tucked in, heads still and things like that. move it on to the ipad to run it through GASP when I get home.

I guess the next part of the question is WHY?

Do you know what you're looking at? are you able to fix yourself or are you just looking to see if it's pretty, I mean does it look better/different when you're happy that you're swinging it well and can you see stuff wrong when you aren't?

Can't see the little problems obviously, but I'm looking for things like tempo, overswing, excessive movement etc. My swing isn't a quest for perfection, just a constant work in progress.

Usually to see if I am doing what I'm trying to do (feel not being real and all that) or to see if I can spot why my strike isn't as it should be. In reality I can't read the whole swing that well but would spot the more basics such as set up, ball position etc. I do try and go frame by frame to see what's happening BUT would still struggle to analyse it.

I do it because I have regular lessons, during said lesson I see my swing on the video and the teachers tells me what's right and what's wrong, by videoing myself at the range I can see if I'm still doing what I've just bee shown in my lesson.
