Do you add up the card you are marking?

I personally prefer it if my marker just gives me back the card with the scores filled in with the score for each hole and nothing else, to often they make a mistake when totalling it up, not that it really matters I guess.

Always add up the card - adding 18 numbers together isn't the most taxing of maths.

Slow day for you?

Does it matter? I always check anyway.

As stated, I know it doesn't matter.
Perhaps youd prefer a good old i brok 100 back slapping thread instead? Or a im so bad at golf right now, or TM are crap or will GI clubs help me, or am I good enough for blades or WITB or etc........... ad nauseum

Of course I do - it's what pretty much everyone does - I can count too

But don't get me started on people putting stableford points on the card - very few can do that accurately

I always mark my FC's score after every hole and always put my own score down. More than once has there been a discrepancy and it makes it easier to check. Most players I know are pretty accurate at stableford points

i just find some markers make a mess of cards and cant add up

Nope. I will enter and maybe add up stableford points while going around during a society outing but that's about it. Any club comps I rarely enter anything except the gross score. The computer can do the addition and work out the scores.

I just presumed it was the done thing We always add up scores and check with each other before signing!

I presumed you were signing as marker to say the score is correct! Some people were saying the other day they signed before they played!

Again, I thought you signed to say you had checked the score and it was correct!!!!

There is no requirement to tot the scores up, juts to check that the entry for each hole is correct. I ask my marker to not do it.
