I've been posting on here for a good while now, and I see a lot of threads which start with 'What club should I buy' or 'I need to choose between X and Y can you help?'.
I'm guilty of posting one or two of these early on too.
My question is, who really goes out and buys a club or set of clubs because a bunch of people on a forum says they're nice? Has anyone actually bought a club on the basis of what the forum has said? And if so was it at all successful?
Maybe I'm being cynical, but are posts like this not just a reason to boast about your club choice or the fact you've got a bit of money to spend?
It would seem the best way to buy a club is to try it out, hit the thing and see what it feels like, rather than what a bunch of strangers are saying?
I understand asking advice about clubs, is it right, will it do this, who has experience with one etc, but just asking for someone to select a club / set of clubs for them seems a really stupid thing to do, no?
Maybe I'm just buying my clubs the wrong way...
