Do I need stiff shafts?

Is there a way to know/find out what shaft you require except from a fitting session? I went to the range other day and my clubhead completely snapped from the shaft. Is this because I swing too fast for a regular shaft and the stress has gotten to it?

i could b wrong but i dont think swinging too fast on a regular shaft could make it snap

not really and no, it won't be anything to do with it.

Guess it was just because it was a pretty rubbish driver then. Was a Ben Sayers M6. Looking for a new one to buy. A forgiving one. Any ideas?

almost definitely.:thup: you snapped the shaft because you swung too quickly. I think you need to ask your granny or some other old people you know if they have an old poker lying about, as this is the only thing I can think of to handle your swing speed, either that or a scaffolding pole.

oh it's a driver. Yep rubbish shaft. you can't go wrong with a Ping !

Yeah it was my driver. I've been told to go for either an R7, or a G10.

Considering I don't want to spend major amounts.

you'll be told on here to go and hit some etc etc, good advice that probably doesn't help you with your budget

you can get a ping g5 from ebay for about £50

or have a look in the for sale listings on here. There was an R7 cgb for sale, (it's got a lightweight shaft, mind you don't break it)
