I keep looking at the gaping hole in my bag that is crying out for a club to make my bag "complete".
the little voice says, "what are you going to put in there Phil"?

Then I put my head on and look at the clubs I have...Im more then happy with the wedges and irons, the gaping is good and I know how far I should be hitting them PW - 100. 5 Iron 165,

The 2 hybrids give me lots of options from the rough as well as the fairway ,

I only use the mini driver off the tee or if the ball is sticking up like a fine fortnight as I have difficulty getting it airborne from the fairway, but it gives me options on tight drives.

The Big Bertha driver is a beast, and goes miles, often in the right direction :)

I can see a possible gap between the 3 Hybrid and the driver, which could be filled with a 5 wood, but having tried several over the last year, I cant find anything that is constantly better then the hybrids I already have. I hit the 5 hybrid 175 , and the 3 hybrid 195 ish. as my best drives are 240 ish im realistically not going to hit anything much more then 200.

another possible option is to add a 4 iron, but this would go the same distance as my 5 hybrid

so fellow forummers.. my question to you is Do I ignore it? or do I put something like a left handed 8 iron in for those "wrong side of a tree moments" just to fill the gap

Or am I missing something? can you see something I dont?

I have already rejected notions of Chippers and custom fitted ball retrievers :)

You could learn to hit the ones you have properly first!

If you are happy with the wedges are you really just adding something at the top end for the sake of it or is there really a gap that needs sorting?

Recently thought the same myself Phil. Had dropped my 60* for a driver, 3w, 21* 24* top. Then dropped my 5i and put the 60* back in. Have now dropped the 3w as well. Sometimes I wish I had the extra distance options but then I remember what usually happens when chasing distance. If I could get myself out of habit of chasing the G.I.R on a long par 4 and instead accept the lay-up I'd probably save a few shots by turning 6's into 5's and even the odd up and down for par.

It's either that or get a few lessons and practice loads but frankly, I don't have the time or inclination at the present moment.

I'd suggest a junior 7 iron of around 20-24 inches for those times when there's just not enough space and you're forced into an unplayable

I'm a bit surprised you don't hit a 45 degree PW more than 100 if you get 165 out of your 5 iron. You say you are happy with the gaps of 7 and 6 degrees? Reducing these will make your game more accurate from 120 in.

So, as per the wedge loft thread........ Ditch your 52 and stick a 50 and 54 in.

If your happy with what you have. A lefty club could be a good idea.

I was going to say something similar.

Oh Boy.....
You Guys haven't seen him swing right handed have you.................

I'd be thinking about an extra long driver or putter to make it a bit easier to get in the clear on a penalty drop...

Why not spend the money on a lesson to learn how to fully use the clubs you already have?
