Just not my couple of weeks... Lipping out, lipping back into bunkers, spinning back off the green etc...

Lost my scratch club championship by one last week (to my rival).

Monthly Medal Final yesterday. I'm a bit of a bandit off 14, and my rival (playing against) is off 11. I was beating him by 7 scratch (nine handicap) after 7 holes, i'm level to my handicap. Hooter goes, play is stopped for two hours. We get back out, I go 4 putt then 3 putt, through water, I just had to go for it as I could've taken a drop but been no better off!
More rain, my golf collapsed so did his.

I was 48 and 49 for 97 ( I know:rofl:!) Nett 83
He was 50 and 44 for 94 Nett 83

Just wanting to double check that I've thrown away another board comp and lost on count back?

I was so positive about my game, on my quest to single figures, but the last few weeks have just dented my confidence! Getting a new swing coach, to get me back on track.
EDIT - I think it is more mental than my golf abilities as I seem to hit it perfect on the range!
THanks!

You came second in your scratch club champs of a handicap of 14 ?? And the winner plays of 11 ??

I don't think this is a surprising thing, I won a scratch competition(Driving Range "Club Championship") off 12 and my old club's champion had only been cut to 9 a few weeks earlier and started the season playing off 13.

As for the actual topic of this thread I think if they played so much better in the poor conditions it just means they are good enough to cope. Put in the hard work and soon you will not lose so many shots.

You make your own luck with varied and challenging practice. Don't always practice straight 6 footers and chipping to lots of green off a flat lush lie.

Yeah!junior!

What were your scores and how many single figure HC do you have at your club ?

And winning a board comp with Nett 83's ?

What club is this ?

And yes he beats you on countback

Was the casual water completely surrounding the hole? If not how would you have not been better off taking relief and placing at the nearest point of relief?

If you have lost of course it will be a huge disappointment. However, once you get over this, it shows you that you can play great golf, even in the worse of conditions. You're on a great run of form and your handicap is going to tumble significantly as you play, practice and improve. Learn how to use the rules regarding casual water to help you, and just keep doing what you're doing.
