Yes it's probably going to rain again in the not too distant future, but the real issue is that sunset in London is now the wrong side of 20:30 which means my midweek golf is about to be curtailed! Gutted as I really do enjoy just rocking up in the evening on an empty course and just playing! :(

Felt like October this morning rather than mid-August - wet on the ground, 13 degrees on the journey to work... and the sun seems to be disappearing far too early of an evening!

Roll on April!!

It's news to me!! I'm used to playing golf in the evening till the clocks go back in October, not mid August!

ahh you mean you have moved from the land of light to down south? it may be darker earlier but theres a superior chance you will get decent weather at weekends and right up till end Nov

One of the benefits of living in a relaxed neck of the woods - leave work at 4.30 - on the tee at 4.45 and getting 18 holes in of an evening for a while yet. We drop down to 15 holes then 12 then 9 progressively before the clocks change.

I am not ready to give up on summer just yet though we have our Club champs in a week and still hoping the bunkers will be dry again by then rather than new water features as they currently stand!

Again from the Met office website, it's 1 degree warmer here than back home!

I guess finishing work an hour later and having to commute for over an hour, instead of jumping in the car to go straight to the club, doesn't help!

i thought once we got past the longest day the light up here fades fast, but was out till 10 last night and it was still light. peeing it down but still light.

Am I correct in thinking you golf at Nairn? Was up there last month and ran along the prom to the course and beyond. It looks magnificent.

thats just today, average is 5-8 degrees warmer, sometimes over 10*- that makes a huge difference (13* or 19*)

Don't care. When I can't play or use the practice ground, I'll adjourn to the range to keep my game ticking over. It's the same every year and to be honest Autumn is my favourite season anyway, especially in a month or two when the trees start changing colour
