Would you all expect a 20 deg hybrid, 5 wood and 4 iron to go similar distances?

My 5 wood is slightly the longest followed by the hybrid then 4 iron but there is not much in it. Normally the 4 iron for me is quite low so runs out along way matching the others at times.

I got the 20 deg hybrid to fill the gap but it is so easy to hit it may oust the 5 wood for a 18 / 16 hybrid.

I would expect the 5 w to beat the 20° which would beat the 4 iron.....on average..
And they would fly higher to lower in the same order.

No I'd expect the 5 wood to go maybe a club further than the hybrid and the same for the hybrid over the 4 iron, weight and shaft length would mainly be behind the difference.

Depends on the clubs and the player, but in general I would expect a 5 wood > 20 deg hybrid > 4 iron.

The 5 wood is probably 18-20 degrees and has a longer shaft than the hybrid, which is in turn longer and less lofted than the 4 iron.

My 4 Iron is 22 Degrees with my 5 Wood being 18, so in terms of Distance, all things being equal, i would say 5, Hy, 4 Iron.

loft wise the 5 wood is 18
hybrid 20
4 iron 23

I do think the gaping is there and about what i expect about 15 yards a club but with the hard ground the 4 iron is running out along way had one yesterday run miles, then again had a 7 iron fly 30 yards longer than normal yesterday but it did bounce about 30 feet in the air when it landed

I have a 5 wood and 3H (20 degree) and both go further than the 4 iron. My 5 wood goes approx 205-200 and my hybrid averages around the 185-190 mark. The latter is ideal for most par 3's as it comes in on a higher flight and so stops nice and quickly. I can only get approx 170-175 from my 4 iron

That's exactly what I would expect the distances to be! You could just have 1 of them in the bag, or maybe 2 for certainshots on the particular course - if you don't like the 5W off the Tee (or deck) for instance. But having 3 clubs covering 5-10 yards distance is a waste imo!

I have a 19deg 5 wood, a 21deg hybrid and a 24deg 4 iron. They are longest to shortest in that order, also highest to lowest same order.

About 15yards (carry) between each of them.

I always had a good gap between the 5W and 4I so the hybrid gaps this well, I just find the hybrid easier to hit than the 5 wood so better consistency off the deck so GG is having the Hybrid very close to the 5 wood. The 5 W is very good for off the tee and handy for a couple of holes at my place.

my 19 hybrid goes pretty similar to my 5 wood but the 5 wood goes higher and lands softer. I don't play a 4i but when I have put it in the bag it doesn't go as far as those other two that's for sure.

I currently carry a 19*h and my 4i is 24 deg!

My 3 wood is 15 deg and the gapping feels about right.

I can dial my hybrid back to 18 but 19 fits the gap perfectly leaving me no need for a 5 wood. If I wanted to replace the 4i with a hybrid I would probably set it to 25* degree to keep the distances the same as the 5i is 27*.

I could go 22*h then 5 wood but I would then have 14 clubs and no room to add a lobber at the bottom. I rarely want to attack greens from distance, if I was 5 wood away I would look to lay up anyway...
