I want to access my paid for Netflix account in the US as they have far better movies and some TV series are further ahead than in the UK, so I want the US server to think I'm in the USA so I can access- who knows how to disguise your IP address to a yank one?

you dont need a vpn to watch the US version of Netflix. just set static DNS entries that resolve netflix to the US rather than the UK.

Media Hint is a pretty good browser extension that I've used in the past to sign up for things like the WWE Network, and watching US Netflix.
EDIT: Seems to have become a paid thing now though, which is a shame, was a handy extension!

Use an app called HOLA, tis free I believe and will allow you to connect to US Netflix.
My daughter somehow does it on her xbox, she told me she just changed the IP address, to what I don't know, but she watches US Netflix as well.

Just a quick note. You won't need one for your iPad when you're in the states. You'll be browsing the internet using a US IP, so you'll be able to access Netflix.com.
