Direct Line Insurance & Direct Golf

Just a quickie....if anyone is due new home contents insurance, may I strongly advise you to consider Direct Line!!!

As posted last week, my entire gear (listed in my sig) got nicked from my garage last Sunday, I spoke to them on Sunday, posted them photos of me using all my gear on Monday as I had no receipts, a lady rang me today stating that Direct Golf would be replacing my gear like for like and I should hear from them wthin 48hrs....

15 mins later and I get a call from Direct Golf confirming all the gear I had, 20 mins further on and the guy tells me that I will be receiving the following, by courier, on Monday to replace my stolen kit:

Mizuno 9" Tour bag
Mizuno MX-700 Driver
Mizuno MX-700 3W
Mizuno Fli-Hi CLK 20 degree
Mizuno MX-200 3-PW
Mizuno MP-T Black Satin 56 & 60 degree wedges
Odyssey Sabertooth putter
Skycaddie SGX GPS unit
Powakaddy Twinline 3 push trolley

On top of all that, we also had 2 bikes nicked, both of which have also been sorted today and will be delivered early next week.

Absolutely first class (and I cant stress this enough) customer service, I'm well chuffed!

I have been with them for years and would not go anywhere else. Wife had her company car nicked so called up to claim for the contents. I was asked for a value, gave them a rough estimate and no questions asked cheque was in the post. Had someone crash into me at 6.00 on the day before xmas eve, had the car picked up within 40 minutes and had a loaner car by 9.00 on xmas eve morning.

You can only judge an insurance company by how they react if you need to claim and direct line have been spot on every time.
 
Tell me about it, I was reading some absolute horror story reviews on them when I was reading about my claim and to be honest, I was dreading it!!

They have been the consumate proffesionals though from start to finish!!

One thing I will say, if any of you dont have reciepts for your gear, get photos of you using it ASAP, the advisor I spoke to tonight said that the reason my claim went through so quick was because of the photogrpahic evidence of ownership I sent in as it makes their job so much easier!
 
Question....were the pics so clear they could tell that what you told them you had were what was in your bag?

I would have thought that any pictures I have just show a club and any clear pics showing me using what I have would need me to be virtually kissing the clubs to show they are what I say.....how did they know?
 
I had 2 pictures of me with my tour bag in the foreground, in which you can see all the headcovers of the woods & putter and also my GPS unit.

I also had pictures of me from a corporate day this year on a green with my putter, and also one from floor angle lookign up using my driver that you could clearly see the MP-001 markings on....at the time I wondered what the saddo behind the camera was doing, i'm ever so grateful now :)

I also had photos of me in the garden holding the clubs so that the markings on the botom could be seen.

I had all angles covered basically....something my dad taught me to do from a young age as he does exactly the same to cover his ass in these situations.
