Wow, seriously impressed with that simulator they have in our Edinburgh Branch!

Went in with a rough budget of £100-150 for a driver, guy walked me around the shop showing me the clubs which were in my price range which were:

Nike Machspeed
Ping g20 (used)
Mizuno JPX800
John Letters T9+

Basically hit half a dozen or so balls with a demo 8 Irons to get into a rythm with my swing. Then he quickly told me how the simulator works etc and then went onto a little fitting, obviously not custom it was just those 4 Vs my current Big Bertha Steelhead.

Results varied greatly.

First I hit the G20, was booming this! Probably the furthest I've ever drove a ball. But it was all over the place! The first 1 I hit way right, the second I over compensated subconciously and hooked it way left! This kept happening, with the odd monster drives thrown in.

Hit the Nike once and the guy just said this aint for you and threw it away haha! Don't think it cleared the ladies tee!!

The mizuno was similar lines to the G20 but was shorter carry and roll out.

And finally the T9+, hit this straight down the middle everytime! Was so surprised at how well I hit it and how good the club felt. The grip is nice and soft, feel as though I don't have to hold on for my life to keep a hold of it. It was shorter than the G20 but I was hitting the fairway and rolling out to around 240. The pro also explained that over the next few weeks as I use it and get more used to it, I should be able to get a few more yards on it as I'm still in a 'swing routine' to compensate for my old Steelhead.

So I bought the T9+, heading up to the range tonight after a flat viewing to see how it goes in outdoor conditions.

Will definitely be back into Direct Golf soon!

Good to hear of good service. Been in a few times since they opened and had a good buy with a JPX fairway wood from them.

The Letters range is certainly starting to look like the Letters of old. Particularly like the Master Model Irons, nice clean lines.
