Was recently fitted for Mizuno JPX 850 Forged irons, the DNA gave 3 shafts DG XP115 S300, PX 5.5 and KBS Tour. After hitting all 3 the DG S300 seemed the best at the time.

Now i've had them about 5 weeks i'm struggling with the shaft, today i got a PX5.5 shaft put in a demo club and the difference in strike and distance was much better.

Now what to do get them reshafted or stick with what i was fitted for ?

I would go back to the fitter and discuss it with them. If they directed you towards the S300, then they might be willing to see if something could be worked out. I think otters bear a degree of responsibility for getting the punter out into the right kit and should be willing to offer some after purchase follow up.

it will be quite expensive to just swap out the shafts. Mizuno might be willing to help. If the pro shop prevaricates, ask them to contact customer service at Mizuno, or say you will do that yourself.

I had sort of thought about doing that, but to be honest i should have said my self at the time that i would have rather had PX shafts but i didn't i went with what the results the fitter had. I'd even thought about getting rid of them and buying a different set with Px shafts in them.

IMHO you have to be sure the PX 5.5 are the best before you make your mind up. How you do that I don't know. But it will cost you to change all the shafts, do you want to go to the expense.I agree with Ethan you have nothing to lose going back to the fitter.

Fitting remains a matter of expertise. The Swing DNA system is only a starting point for shaft selection, and you need an expert fitter who can take a look at your swing to decide what is really best. Sometimes they need to manage expectations, optimism or lunacy too.

I think Mizuno UK would be unhappy to know you are unhappy. You could try posting on the Mizuno forum and some of the Mizuno UK staff patrol the corridors there and might offer some helpful comments.

And if you go back for some more fitting, you could try the C taper Lite shaft. That might work well for you.

That's the dilemma i'm in ,ive had PX 5.5 before and got on with them but just not enjoying hitting the DG just now, the expense to change shafts i would imagine would be £150, so do i get shot of them and get something with that shaft in them or keep them, the joys of custom fit

Thats a good point Ethan, i do go on there from time to time ,i'll see what comes out of it, cheers

Whichever way you go about it, I'd definitely change them if you can afford to.

It's horrible playing with clubs you aren't confident with.

Out of interest did the fitting include launch monitor information or just done by the fitters eye. I would certainly go back to the fitter and discuss it further

The fitting was done using flightscope and wasn't much in it but i should no my game better ,but you put trust in the fitter.

Cheers for the replies lads.

I've recently made a similar mistake with my irons...although having said that I wasn't fitted so it was all my own work, down to my own stupidity.
I looked into getting my i25's re-shafted to graphite but it would have worked out horrendously expensive so I bit the bullet, got shot and bought some new ones that I am now happy with.
As Gary says above, it's horrible playing with clubs you are not confident with, and I hated the Pings (apart from the PW!).
Doing the swap worked out considerably cheaper for me.

thats a shame steve, i have S300 in my JPX825 and i get on well with those with not a very quick swing speed. the cost of changing the shafts is way to high to swap IMO, maybe just see what the fitter says.

I think otters bear a degree of responsibility

Worth while contacting mizuno. I was fitted early last year by titleist and went with what the fitter suggested. Once I got them onto the course is was quickly obvious that I had the wrong shafts. I emailed titleist and they offered to swap the shafts FOC. ( I had already paid extra for an upload shaft though) but in the end I moved the clubs on as I fell out of love with them after the experience
