as mentioned before am off to the Belfry for my birthday and am after a new driver..... they just got back to me with this:

which all sounds amazing but that'll mean i won't have a driver to use during my round at the Belfry on the Saturday!

do i wait until the 24th, play my round (minus driver) and then get the proper fitting.
or
do i go down to AG and hit a few and buy it that way so i have it for the big day?

there must be somewhere else that does the full works fitting closer to london?

Go with the 3 wood, what is the difference in distance? Plus it might improve you game, it has mine.

For the new driver, I would want to be properly c/fed, or I would forever wonder if I could have done better.

Play with the 3w.

I nearly bought a 909D3 the other day, and the only thing that stopped me was I really want to go to Titleist again, get c/fed, and get it right. Tempted by the one on the shelf though.

sorted - it may be a 2hr drive away but i'm going up the weekend before to do it. that way i've got a week to hit the range before the big day :)

this golf obsession is getting ridiculous!

i'm not sure now - i've booked a slot at the Belfry for the 17th, but its a 2hr drive up there.
just been speaking to the leaderboard golf centre in reading who are/have an authorised Taylor Made Opti-fit system so am considering going there instead (only an hour away for me).
just unsure as the belfry guys say they spend an hour and a half on the fitting whilst they quoted me 30mins or so.

call me silly but want to make sure its spot on!

Are they both free provided you buy the clubs? If so go to the Belfry mate- its the national custom fit centre so you know you will get the best service without going direct to a manufacturer.

I've not been to Leaderboard as it is the other side of town from the hospital and a nightmare to drive to from there but if both give you a free fitting as long as you purchase my gut instinct is go the Belfry. From what I do know Leaderboard isn't the biggest range/store in the world and so I'm a little worried how many shaft/head combinations they may have for you to try

thanks guys.
i've emailed a couple of other places and the Portsmouth golf centre looks promising too (similar distance to the Belfry for me but i regularly visit a mate down there),
will let you know how i get one.

ps. yes, fitting is free if you purchase, with the Belfry they give you a £50 voucher if you don't buy on the day for use in the shop or for orders up to 12months later.
