What is the difference I should look for in loft? I have a 3 hybrid at 19degree, if I wanted to get a replacement long iron, should it be the same loft, or more, or less?

problem is they may well have different shaft length
also your swing speed, shot shape etc.

I'd hit a 3Hyb 19* around 210 yards carry probably.
That would mean probably going back to 2 iron, 17 degrees maybe.

My Taylormade RBZ stage 2 22 degree hybrid goes 1 yard further than my Callaway xr pro 4 iron which is 21.5 degrees. That is an average over 5 shots, very close in distance but the 4 iron is .5 degree stronger and goes 1 yard less. So you may need some lower loft but I wouldnt say much

Good to know. Thank you.

My Aeroburner 19* hybrid goes about 25 yards further than my MP15 24* 4i. So about 2 1/2 clubs longer, so I would need to get an 18* iron to probably get a similar distance.

Hope this gives you something to consider.

So an iron would probably be a lower loft than a hybrid that goes the same distance?

Usually the lower the loft the longer the shaft... it's the combination that gives distance.
Presuming you can deliver the same "smash factor" - which most people who are not low handicap etc. cannot do that often.
