Didn't realise you could drop the ball on the green

.............After going into a water hazard.
Nearest point of relief no nearer the hole ended up on the green for Steve Wheatcroft.
I wasn't aware that was allowed. Every day's a learning day!
 
Generally it's the relief option under abnormal ground conditions that will prevent you dropping on a green (the nearest point of relief can't be on one, and when dropped the ball must first strike a part of the course that isn't one).

When dropping, a ball cannot roll onto and remain on a putting green - it would have to be re-dropped. This isn't the same as dropping it on a green.
