Didnt play golf this weekend, went fishing instead and loved it

Had two or three hobbies in my life, golf, guitar and fishing and normally sold one lot of gear to fund the other

However kept all my golf gear but sold off excess irons etc and purchased some new fishing gear

Went at the weekend and had a great time, relaxing, enjoyable and some nice fish

I think its good to have other interests as well as golf as next time I play golf I think I will enjoy it even more

So the moral of the story is enjoy golf more by going fishing too !

Arranged a meal out for family and friends - not taking that up as a hobby its far too much like hard work!

Pike fishing mate best in winter....

Caught my first and only pike approx. 10lb when feeder fishing on light tackle, it was a battle to net it and great fun

I chucked fishing to start golfing again. Loved my salmon fishing but it ended up costing more than golf. Still tie some flies every now and then to keep my eye in. Salmon actually run the wee river behind my house as we're not far from the sea. See the odd one after spawning time

Can't beat a bit of fishing when the weather is right for it. If it's too windy for golf then it's off for a spot of sea fishing or I go fishing at night when golf is a bit tricky to play.
