More from my daughter this one as she's eyeing up what she can do next season.

She got her first handicap of 36 in May, had her first comp in June & 4 months later she has knocked 14 shots of her handicap & won a rose spoon with a nett 59.

Well done to her and good luck for next season!

Personally I did fall short of my goal of single figure golf. However I finished the year on the same handicap and won one of the main trophies so I have to be pleased with that.

Managed to get back to the realms of 7 this year after ballooning this past few years to 9 but want to ideally get back to the 6.0 I started at this club with. With some practice then get lower again.

I told her anything around 15 for next year would be good, she was nah, i'm going for 8 or 9 :), little ambitious

good to be ambitious though sometimes.

I'm another who didn't get where they wanted. Was hoping to breach 4 but 4.7 was as low as I got before finishing at 5.5 - always next season...

Didn't get where I wanted in terms of handicap but won a few things, practiced less and played more and enjoyed my golf a lot more whether I was playing good bad or indifferent. I'd have preferred some consistany and a short game whe it mattered during the summer but I'll take it

No :(

But got to meet some decent folk (and some knobs) and played some jolly nice tracks, so not all is lost!

Will set to work proper over the winter and see what happens next year.

Nope wanted to get to around 8 but various things conspired against me including seeing a new pro changing jobs etc etc this time next year Rodney..........

Yes. The goal was always 3 by the end of the season an a .2 cut during the final comp of the year saw me just sneak in.

I've had a crap year on the course, my driving having started to desert me around April and I have struggled ever since. After a steady year in 2010, when I got to single figures, this year has just been one poor round after another, where I have played some okay golf but with disaster holes thrown in - something I had eradicated a few years ago.

I had been hoping to consolidate this year, but have gone up to 10.3 - luckily, we run midweek medals and weekend stablefords throughout the winter, so I may get that back down, especially since a eureka moment a couple of weeks ago seems to have transformed my ball striking.

Watch this space.....

Absolutely yes!
Took up playing golf in July.
Joined my 1st ever golf club.
Got my official handicap (a bit later in the year than I had planned for)
Didn't get to play in a comp though (got handicap a bit late)

Aim's for next year.
To play better golf & get my handicap down.
To play lots of other courses
To enter as many comps as I can

far far from it.

started on 20, managed to eek that down to 15 but stuck up to 16 with a daft round or two end of the season.

didnt play very often either(in comps)

hopefully next year ill make may way to 12 or 10 ish.

we will see.

No. Wanted to get down to 8, but the lowest I got to was 8.8, and now looks like I could be heading for 9.5. On the other hand, I have one more comp, so a good score on Saturday could yet do it, but it needs to be very very good. 5 under net could yet see me there.

If the rain stops.

Not yet but still time. Last year I set a 3 year plan, break 100 last year which I did then 90 this year 85 next and 82 the year after. Struggled for consistency this year due to major changes to swing and putting but all coming together now. Thought I was on for it yesterday went out in 42 playing well but fell apart and started fatting it on the back nine coming home in 52. Really annoying but I know it is in there I just need to iron out a few more kinks.
