We had our last medal of the year on Sunday and despite high winds, a shank, two lost balls and a treble bogey on the 7th, I managed to scrape into the buffer courtesy of CSS going up 1. I was 8 over at the turn but came home in +2 after bogeying the last 2 holes.

All was well until I looked at my scorecard on HDID which showed me having a bogey on 13 and a birdie on 14 when in fact I had 2 pars. I have absolutely no idea if I entered it wrong on the computer (which is notoriously slow and tempermental) or whether my marker marked the card wrong and I didn't notice. I usually check my hole scores before signing my card but honestly don't remember if I did this time :embarrassed:

Anyhow, clearly if I put it down wrong on the card then I get DQ'd for signing for an incorrect score on hole 14. I can cope with that but the double whammy is that the bogey on 13 stands which will push me out of the buffer and up to 7.5  I have flagged the situation to the h'cap secretary and await his response.

Knob

Sorry Hawkeye hope it gets sorted without any DQ but I have to ponder what if it was A.N Other viewer who spotted it on HDID (analogy for TV) and called it in..........

Hope it was a typo and your card is correct, be a real blow to go up a shot at this stage with no qualifiers to come until April

We still have a few qualifiers but they are all stablefords from now on. It's only 0.1 but I was quite pleased with my response to the poor front nine so to go up because of a stupid non-playing mistake will be rather annoying.

Hawkeye, what matters is what is on your card. If the card is correct and you made an input error on the computer, you are all right.

From the wit and wisdom of the great Chic Murray...

I made a stupid mistake last week. Come to think of it, did you ever hear of someone making a clever mistake?

Thanks Colin, I was aware that the card was all that mattered but couldn't be sure where the mistake was. Happily though, I have just had a call from the h'cap secretary who has checked my card and everything is in order so I guess I typed it wrong in the computer. I'm not sure how though as I remember thinking 4-3-4-3-4 had a nice ring to it.

Anyhow, all is well, I'll just have to be more careful next time.

Him similar thing Sunday, had already had a NR on the second after an 8 on the first but had a 4 on 9, was entered as a 4 on the card and Know I entered a 4 on the computer but on HDID it shows up as a 6 !!!!
