I know many of you can't get out at the moment as your courses are closed - I feel your pain. My course is open and has been all winter though we have had temporary greens and tees on a number of occasions. The downside is that life is quite simply getting in the way at the moment.

I've been able to practice but not able to get on the course to see if any of it is making a difference :( Looking like no golf again this coming weekend so earliest may be the week after... Starting to feel more than a little fed up. How's everyone else coping? Played much? Winter changes making a difference? New kit bedded in?

Not managed to play 18 for several months now. A combination of work and non stop, incessant rain... Tried hitting a few at the range recently but it doesn't really get the juices flowing..

I can honestly say that if my subs were due this week then they wouldn't be getting paid.. Fortunately they're only due in June, but I'm not sure the course is going to recover in time for Summer...

Well it's still raining here and has been non-stop since last Friday I think, I can't see me playing my own course for a few weeks now as the forecasts ahead don't look too clever and the course requires a really good period of time to recover & drain properly.

I was pleased with my progress after a lesson just before Christmas especially with having new clubs in the bag and things were looking good transferring some decent practice sessions to the course in some roll-ups, as such I believed I was heading in the right direction, but a trip to Hayling Island in silly wind last week brought me back to earth, but then again, nobody did well in those conditions and there was some good stuff mixed in with the crap.

So cabin fever is setting back in, got a big meeting in north London on Thursday and the new contact was taking me around Caddington Golf Club afterwards but I just looked it up and noticed it's closed, but not due to weather, gutted

How are the TaylorMade going for you Robin? Glad to hear it was going well before the cruddy weather. Still going to smash you in our handicap challenge though ;)

:rofl:I love a dreamer

Everything was going well until this weather showed its ugly face, I know I did some stupid things at Hayling but that was just trying too hard in very difficult conditions, which were very testing for the most experienced golfers in the group so I shouldn't be too hard on myself.

I've got a settled bag, i think, only thing I might tinker with is another putter, but the jury's out currently.

It will still be #YOTF without a doubt, I'm coming out the traps flying, we have a good few B-team matches in March before our qualifiers start so I'll be finely tuned :D

I have played a few times albeit very in and out and it looks like I will be playing Thursday too but I must admit its hard to get motivated to practice.

It seems with the weather there is no end to the misery but im sure it will all be forgotten in a few weeks.

I know what you mean about the range it's OK for tuning up but just not a substitute for the real thing... really feel for you guys in the NW it's been incessant for you :(

It's still raining here now.. Parts of the village green have been under water for over a month!! I was chatting to the Pro on Saturday and we were of the same opinion. The course should have been closed.. However, it would have been closed for several weeks and they are trying to keep as much of the course open for as long as possible. But, the damage being done means that when (if) the rain does stop then it'll take so much longer to fully recover.. A real catch 22 situation..

Think I've played twice since Christmas, course open at the weekend but even if I was here not sure I would have gone out in the weather!

So I've done the obvious thing and booked to have a go with the M2 driver tomorrow!!

Game planned for this Saturday with some of the NW gents so looking forward to that

Been very lucky that I have managed to play 4/5 times a week still

Driver is really good at the moment but missing a few silly putts but a lot down to the odd bobble - looking forward to another good season.

The course is open but in my opinion not worth playing at the moment. I feel I can get more value working on my short game and hitting the range. I'm happy with where my game is considering I've played twice since the start of December. Day off on Friday and hoping to get out and play a few holes if it dries out (unlikely) or a solid short game session. Weather not looking good next weekend either

This surprises me but depends if you've got temps or not. With temps I'd be inclined to agree but without temps I just feel that if I can score well with the wind bellowing, hands numb, clothes sodden and the course playing longer then I'm made for the better weather. That and the fact that I'm not a fan of the range...
