Looking for somewhere around the end of July for my birthday to go play golf with a couple of mates and stay overnight.

Ideally a course with a hotel would be handy but would consider staying at a hotel local to the course, looking around
the north of England, anywhere from around Manchester up to the Scottish borders.

A sunday driver type deal would be ideal where you get 2 rounds, overnight stay, evening meal and breakfast.

So any recommendations would be appreciated.

Looks nice, any idea what they charge as the website doesn't even have green fee prices on which is a little worrying that if you have to ask you can't afford it! haha.

It was £129 for 2 rounds dinner bed and break but looks as if offer has stopped, I had email
Link but it says no specials available at present. Maybe worth an email also is on 241 green fee scheme. Another decent hotel nearby Cottons, if you fancy it and can work a better deal yourself.

Forest Pines is a cracking set up. Formby hall is another decent place that you should be able to bag for around £90 each.

Mottram hall nr Manchester and shrigley hall is another decent place.

Forest pines awesome set up plus 3 different loops of 9

But be very careful of teeing off too late. I've played it 3 times and it is very nice. But I have seen queues 20 deep on the 1st tees around 11am on Sunday mornings as it is full of people on golf break weekends. If possible go for as early a tee time as you can cope with.

Also I'd recommend Carden Park (booked through golf breaks) 2 very nice courses.

Forest Pines is decent. Mere is excellent, and a measure of its quality is its been an Open Qualifier for the last few years - also only a taxi ride into Manchester for a night out.

F Pines about 1.5hrs away for you, and Mere about 2hrs.
