Read in a paper today that Darren Clarke is now using services of a fitness guru... One of the first things he has got Darren to do is give up the demon drink ... Also got him wearing contacts...

Hopefully these and other 'changes' in the pipeline [giving up the weed] will help Darren show his true form on a more regular basis...

Always been a big fan of Darren... Just wish he achieved a bit more in line with his talent...

I think what you meant to say is cut down on the demon drink. I can't see Mr Clarke going teetotal especially at this stage of his career. Interesting about the contact lenses. Didn't seem to be doing him much could at Fancourt though

It would seem Darren is not currently partaking in any alcohol... Read it somewhere else now... Couple of better rounds over the last two days... If he has a strong finish tomorrow I might just give a thought to going on the wagon myself ...

Has also been pleasing seeing this years Ryder Cup captain having a good time out on the course...

tobacco is also a weed and is more than likely what he is referring to. This isnt the first time that DC has appointed a fitness coach. He used to have Steve Hampson in his corner and lost quite a bit of weight, but it didnt seem to last...

Fair enough never really heard it described as such. I did think he looked a touch leaner allright

Have a look at DC when he beat Tiger in 2000,then look at him when he was going through a barren period of golf.Being fit and healthy is always a good thing, but not always the way forward in terms of golfing success.

Probably wise.

I vividly remember watching the 1st round of the USPGA when he was paired with Rory McIlroy. It was a rather hot day. McIlroy looked unflustered (until he messed with the root). Darren on the other hand had enormous sweat patches on his shirt and looked done after 9 holes.

He has a great opportunity to compete at the highes level again and it's good to see he is taking that chance seriously
