today I'm supposed to be playing the second round of the society singles; against one of, if not the, best players in the society and off my new slimline handicap and this at a course, Chesfield, that I have never got round and stayed dry...

it is currently throwing it down, and
I had a big blow-up in a video conference

will this be detrimental to my game?

I'm in Hertfordshire and it been pouring down most of the afternoon with the odd rumble from the sky aswell. Dont think you'll be playing today.

It is now torrential rain outside. No golf for me today either. Here's hoping tomorrow is better (it would struggle to be worse).

We have had rain of truly Biblical proportions today. But its been so dry recently that I don't think its going to have made any difference at all.

I've a day off and it has been torrential rain for the last 30 minutes with a heavy thunder storm. We had a similar shower (without the thunder) this morning and there is a threat of more to come.

I might wander to the putting green later for some chipping and putting but not really got the enthusiasm to go to the range in this humidity and hit balls. Certainly not going out for 9 and risking a soaking

I've got to say our fairways are looking pretty burnt out, this rain will just create big puddles though and kill what ever grass is left.

I am thinking golf range tonight. I quite like it with the rain drumming on the roof, but being dry under it. The weather might keep some of the idiots at home too.

Hey Guys, the light showers stopped here about 1pm, sunshine since !!

Off home for a round and a pint this evening, hopefully I'm going to thrash my neighbour.

will this be detrimental to my game?

to answer my own question - not hardly!

simplex - won 4&3

complex - best ever round anywhere!
+3 Gross for the front nine, not quite as good for the back nine but Gross 83/net 62 for the round.
