darts world cup

i was thinking the same but it was definately something to do with paul nicholson and the way he was acting after the darts had finished.adrian kept pointing to what looked like the start of where the fans stand so he may have said something to them or done something.

i wonder if it will get mentioned in the papers.

what a final though, they played terrible but still came out on top.at times adrian lewis is umbelievable, and the way phil taylor played against simon whitlock with so many missed doubles was unreal.great stuff.

I think it was because Nicholson refused to sign the board afterwards.
Amazing to see the pressure get to all of them in the decider.

if that was the case then thats a bit pathetic.he needs to get a grip, when adrian and phil were getting interviewed the camera went to paul and he mouthed something quite bad.

thats what he wants though,to be the bad boy,get a name for himself.he's doing a good job of it.

I was trying to lip-read both him and Lewis and they were both having a go at each other.
I can understand him being upset as the Aussies played the better darts in the doubles but it showed a complete lack of class to behave like he did.
I believe "knob" is the correct way to describe him.

He acted like a big baby. He little rant at the end about winning it next year was the icing on the cake.

Bit of a joke really considering he's not even an Aussie.

aye that was a great aussie come geordie acscent, the crowd are gonna love him and ted hanky this year they will rip em to bits,

fancy punching the wall ,a wall hurts if you hit it right and it dont fight back

just watched it again he called lewis a kretin, then at end phil nods over to him to as he holding the trophy as if to say want to come for a hold of it

To be fair to Nicholson, hes nailed his colours to the mast even though he has a geordie accent. He looked gutted at the end and I cant blame him for feeling like that and then they say come sign this board that you have just missed your darts on. Would Taylor have gone to that board if he would of lost, im not so sure. I think I would feel the same way as Nicholson if everything you worked for to then miss 5 opportunities at winning the world cup.

I think Nicholson is a decent player and on his day he can play as well as anyone on tour. He has had to create this persona to get noticed and its worked for him. I imagine he gets lots more exhibition bookings and its allowed him to live more comfortably and practice that bit more. Ted Hankey coming across will be an interesting one as he is the person people love to hate. He has played on that and uses it to his advantage, I think he will be a very good addition to the PDC.

Ted Hankey will pretty much replace Peter Manley as the pantomine villan.

Think Nicholson is getting a bit of a Bartonesque reputation as a trouble maker amongst the other pros though. Whilst its good box office and TV viewing not sure its a good move to totally alienate yourself from other tour pros

I agree Nicholson's behaviour was a bit much but as has been said it's the image he's trying to create although I dont think he has the darts to back it up. While I agree that he should have signed the board, I hate the way Lewis acts liek a spoilt child when things aren't going his way.
