Danny Willet?

I wondered who he was a few weeks ago when he started well in the Andalucia Open. Today, a 64 from Danny in the Spanish Open. Not likely to win but what a performance! Apparently Danny is 20 years old, officially ranked (R&A) the world's number one amateur (Yes, he's still an amateur). He's from South Yorkshire (Rotherham, I think). We've got a future major winner in this lad.

yea he won the spanish amateur championship I think and that is how he has qualififed for some of the European tour events. No doubt he has talent, but from what I've seen of him he has one blinding round followed by a less than average round, but this can be ironed out when he turns professional, and who knows what he could achieve.

I'm proud to say I play at the same club. Danny is going to make a good living at the game I’m sure.

Don’t know him, but I’ve seen him hit a couple of shots and couldn’t believe my eyes!

Oh - he also won the english open last year, and played in the walker cup

Watched him win the English Amateur at Royal St Georges last year, just an awesome player.
