I just saw the highlights of his round today, and indeed some clips from his play over the other days this week at the Jonnie Walker championship and as with all promising youngsters the Tiger comparisons are well under way! No doubt the boy is the real deal he was superb and putted with such ease and confidence it was a joy to watch. What is more he is currently only an amateur, although he will be turning pro after the Mastera at Augusta.

What do people think is he the next big thing (over an above Kim, Mcilroy etc)?

And what did people make of his performance, a flash in the pan or the start of something special? (If you haven't seen it and have sky check out golf night starting at 7pm on skysports 2, and if not the youtube videos are bound to appear within the next day or two)

One thing is for sure though- he has definitely got the talent!

I think its easy for the media etc to create a certain unrealistic level of expectation everytime a new young talent emerges fromt he pack. As McIlroy showed in his first season there is more to being a pro than just playing well.

I think its always good to see talent emerging and providing he is given the time to find his feet, decide if he wants to turn pro and learn his trade there may well be more days like this ahead for him

That doesn't happen often - an amateur winning a top pro event! Good luck to him.

Does he still get the 2 year exemption? And does the prize money move down so the 2nd place guy picks up 1st place money?

Yes he still gets the exemption.

And yes his winnings were shared between those tied for second place.

Yes he gets a 2 year exemption. And yes those coming in second all share 1st place money.

Pity Danny Lee can't get anything those, especially as he is going to be turning pro soon enough.

I know certain comps that offer the prize money so long as the amature in question turns pro by a certain time after the event.
