While I applaud the response by Dani Alves in tonight's game, when are UEFA/FIFA going to introduce some proper sanctions for racism in football?

A small fine just doesn't do anything to eliminate this sort of thing and surely it is time to ban teams from the next major competition if their fans continue to do it. To me a first offence should be a £10 million fine and deduction of 10 points from whatever qualifying competiton the country/club are playing in. A second offence will be a £20 million fine and 4 year ban from international/european competition and for each subsequent offence you keep doubling the penalties until that country/club deals with the issue.

It says it all when Bendtner got fined £87,000 for showing the paddy power pants

And Serbia got fined £22,000 for racist chanting

UEFA havent got the guts to cut out the vile and racist chants and abuse from football fans.

Mindless individuals. That is not wanted in the game and my initial thought was to ban the club for a year. But why should 50,000 people suffer for a few morons. Not wishing to sit on the fence but I don't know the answer

Why should clubs suffer because of the mindless morons who 'claim' to follow them.

if you followed Bubba round Augusta shouting racist remarks, is it fair that he should be disqualified or punished because one of his fans shouted racist abuse.
