Well, had a really busy day yesterday so set the Abu Dhabi Golf Championship to record on good ole Sky+ so I could watch it last night.

Got all my jobs done and sat down to watch the 4hrs coverage. Casey playing fantastic on the front 9 but started to wobble on the back.

Coming down 18th, his 5 shot lead is now only 1 shot, pulls his teeshot left and is forced to lay up.

Suspense is rising, I'm on the edge of my seat, he just needs to drop it into 2 put range and it's all his.

Then what.

"Coverage will continue on Sky Sports 3. Were going to show some Rugby now" ARGGGGGGGGG.

Now, I like my Rugby, but wtf, there's 3 more shots left in the whole thing and they switch channels on me.

Decided not to stay up for Golf Night and taped it instead. Watched the last 5 mins of the tournament when I got up to see Casey close the deal.

Man I was sooo annoyed last night. Sorry for the rant.

Well done Paul, great result.

It gets better tho westy...the delay from leaving one channel to the next was like 6-8 minutes so they showed Casey hitting his 3rd not live as 2 seconds later hes sizing up the putt, totally killed the moment.

Casey seems to have a little problem closing out tournaments these days. I thought he was dam lucky in the end up although his golf from day one was superb.

Casey for me is one of these guys that you cant help but like. Like Tiger I think he conducts himself impeccably on the course and he has a wonderful and simple golf swing which is easy on the eye!

But just think - if it had of been on the BBC then they would have not shown the end at all because it was time for Antiques Roadshow....

good point.. generaly you cant knock sky tho .. with golf its an all day event so its going to be the sport with the most cock ups. better then the masters watch two shots then back in the studio with jug ears who is monotone and knows jack all!

Yeah, in general I think sky's pretty good when it comes to sport coverage. Just this time it really got me. Just spoiled what was, up until that point, fantastic coverage.

I really do like Casey though, he just seems a genuinely nice bloke. So was delighted when he got himself over the line.

I'd have rather he closed it out in style and matched his front 9 and not have given the other guys even a sniff of hope. But it did make great viewing.

I guess they didn't want to miss the start of the rugby, but most of the start is preamble, and often with rugby, the best bit is the last 20 minutes, not the first 5.

It did kill the moment though.

If you want to see a truelly dreadful performance by Casey watch his promo for the Nike Sumo on the JJB channel!!!

His golf is great but his interview is as wodden as a Hickory stick!

Sky sports coverage is way better than Setanta though. Was really pleased when I found the golf channel on my Setanta pack, but watching live PGA Tour golf is like having teeth pulled. They only ever follow about 3 players, and sit drivelling on and on every time there's a US commercial break. And what's worse, they don't edit the highlights......

Where is the rest of the field? Why can't they ever show more than 2 minutes of golf before switching to the panel? Bloody useless.

Hang on - Jug Ears plays off low single figures and could probably beat most people on this forum, so probably knows as much as any of us...

The problem would never have arisen if they wern't playing so slowly! They had been on "The Clock" for most of the back nine holes. Don't blame Sky!

I think sky has been a huge benefit to golf particularly in Europe and it is great that they could switch to another channel to finish the live coverage. In the old days, even in Skys early years, if golf or motor sport overran it was cut off and you were told to tune in to the highlights later.

Now at least with 4 live sports channels they can move stuff around (and put other stuff on via interactive). Agreed it is a pain if you are recording it but for the majority its great to be able to flick over and catch the climax
