If they (H4H's) is using charity obtained monies for pay offs & gagging orders due to poor internal housekeeping both in administration and employment, then it's right to report it and have it investigated, just because they do a lot of good work does not exempt them from any malpractice, whilst I support the work that H4H's does, my first choice charity is the Royal British Legion as it has no selection process, everyone who needs help is treated equally.

Looks like typical Mail journalism. The paper says H4H competes with the RBL and SSFA, yet both those organisations don't have the facilities that H4H has. And further to that H4H have made a number of grant donations to those organisations.

as to paying out 5 figure sums as part of confidentiality agreements. Every company in the country pays out similar sums, even if they know they'd win because it's cheaper than going to court.

I hope the H4H can disprove everything and win a huge out of court settlement for libel.

It's the Daily Fail for goodness sake, who takes a blind bit of notice to what they print.:o

Well as no doubt a good few million read their papers articles with damaging headlines will have an affect

If one person stops donating because of what they have printed then it has caused a difference

I agree although if the Charity Commission are looking and given the other charity scandals, you have to hope its sensationalist reporting and that the commission finds no case to answer.

seems to be some blinkered views here, the original story came from someone who worked for the charity and was an ex service man,the original charity was set up to build a swimming pool and just snowballed without having the proper people in place to organise things, how can any charity pay city slicker wages without having the same audits and codes of practice as a non charity company ,because thats what it is a company.I have never given a penny,or played in a compatition this charity is associated with,i have never been easy not knowing were the money goes.

On the issue of The Mail.

It is a vile rag, and if everyone ignored its vitriolic spewing of nastiness and often totally invented scaremongering, then perhaps it might fold. Sadly I don't think that either will happen.

In the unlikely event I was ever to hold a copy of it in my hands then perhaps I might maybe believe just one thing it prints. Possibly, just possibly, the day and date on the front page, but I would not commit myself on this until I had it corroborated by a believable and credible source.

To paraphrase Billy Connolly. "Don't buy it! It only encourages them to keep going."

The key to the success of a lot of charities is the governance and the trustees. Just about every charity do very worthy and needed work, and are full of very committed volunteers and paid executives. But sometimes whilst the charity does great work, it is not run very well at all. The Kids Company is a shining example of this.

It would be very strange of The Fail to run this kind of story on H4H if it did not have some very strong evidence as it is a charity that I imagine many of its readers are very supportive of. But as it is The Fail then sometimes logic goes out of the window and i am sure it will all come out in the wash.
