Daily Mail Foursomes

Nothing at all wrong with the format. The pairing that plays best wins, end of story. Its a true pairs format, where both players have to play well, unlike betterball, where only one half of the pairing need hit fairways, hole putts etc.

My partner speaks the truth. Think Mike only played in the greensomes so he could hit a drive on every hole. I won't play foursomes. Never liked the format, not consistant enough to do well in it and always, always come off feeling as though you haven't really had a game

I qualified for it a couple of years ago by winning our clubs matchplay knock out.

We made it through 4 rounds only to get a spanking in the 5th. Played our course for two rounds and were away for the other 3. There are some nice courses out there, shame we didn't get to play any.

Not a huge fan of the format but when you play well it is a great feeling doing it together. So frustrating a lot of the time though. Had enough for the moment as I played 72 holes of it two w/ends ago, 36 on the Sunday before and 18 the Friday before that. Only 18 to go on Sunday then I can put that one to bed for at least 6 months.

is the daily mail foursomes not matchplay?
one i played in was.....

i dont mind foursomes it actually makes you think i cant f**k this shot up

Nothing up with the format at all. Good game, can be frustrating however I like it. Good to have that extra pressure of not wanting to let your partner down.

We play in an 'inter company' Ryder cup style day which is over 3 x 9 holes in one day ( 2 teams of 16) .

One of them is the foursomes and the extra pressure really does change the way you play and the style of the game.

Not my favourite format but good fun as part of the above day
