Hi everyone, first time poster and would like your advise on something

I have a taylormade ghost manta belly putter which isnt working for me as well as i hoped, but i had to buy it because it was a steal at £40 brand new. my question is what will cutting the shaft down to 35" do to the feel of the putter and should i do it on my own or take it to the pro shop

thanks for any advice or experience on the matter!

Hi JK - have fun at Hoylake!

By chopping a foot off the length of your putter you'll reduce the weight at that end of the club which will make the head feel heavier.
This may or may not be a good thing depending on your preference.
It's a job you can do yourself, plenty of instruction videos on t'Internetwebbything and a replacement grip won't break the bank..

If you can safely use a hacksaw and a craft knife, no problem in cutting it down. Belly putters normally have quite heavy heads, so your putter will still feel quite heavy. Adding weight at the grip end with a heavy grip or a weight plug will reduce its effective swing weight, which is how heavy the club feels when swung. :)
