My Driver head decided to separate from it's home on the bottom of the shaft, and leave me driverless, so I thought what better chance to get properly fitted and find the perfect driver for me. I've just moved to the Warrington area so don't know the area particularly well, so wondered if the NW contingent had any suggestions for me on the best place to go for my fitting? I've done a bit of Googling and found True Fit which looks promising, what are your thoughts on there? If not them, where would you suggest?

Cheers!

True fit golf has a cracking set up with some good lads there, I think Aidrian Fryer still teaches their as well. The only negative is its a bit pricey and I don't think they're keen on price matching/giving discounts.

Definitely worth going though.

True fit / Tour X. Tour X has moved to Bolton now and has a bit of a waiting list but lots of fancy shafts for you to try, and a top of the range launch monitor. Nick was the tour rep for Adams and has built clubs for the best.....True Fit is a driving range so better for seeing actual flight etc.

Where about some in Warrington are you? Google Clarkes Golf in Rainford St Helens. Massive amounts of stock and great fitting equipment. They have all the tech and will refund the fee if you buy from them, where as tru fit don't. Also with tru fit the range is really hard to see visually with it facing South... I would say for an extra 10 mins in the car Clarkes is streets ahead....

Another one for TourX in WIGAN, not bolton. They are now fully open, they only had one bay last week.

Nick Hibbs is a master club builder, and like others have said fitted on the tour for years, not so much a rep.

He has an unbelievable knowledge of the tech and also gives great advice. If you give him a call to discuss what you are looking for he can usually get the relevant models in for you so you can compare them to other brands. The tech he uses was Trackman, not sure if he has moved to camera tech rather than doppler. The other thing that sets Nick apart from places like Clarkes and TFG is the selection of shafts you can be fitted from literally hundreds ready to try, whereas Clarkes, TFG and most other places have stock shafts and nothing exotic, Think starting prices for shafts at £50 going into triple noughts. He is not tied to any manufacturers per se, so will fit to your swing not a brand.

I also think you can have lessons at TourX, he used to have a pro come in and do lessons in warrington, not sure why he moved because the location in Warrington was spot on, but given all the regen in the area rates and rent prob soaring.

Oh and have I said, try Nick before anywhere else.

Dan, no bugger has offered a round yet (in this thread). Being a newbie up in the great North, feel free to be direct and ask for a game or join in on a mini-meet when you see one posted. You can get to 100’s of great courses within an hour from Warrington.

Where you joining?

I have heard good things about clarkes myself, and believe they give reasonable trade-ins. Thinking about having a few lessons there and prob a fitting next year.
OP if you ever want a game just drop me a line, mainly play Sherdley, Mersey valley and Frodsham.
