Hi All

sorry for the very specific nature of the post but has anyone been to the American Golf (world of golf) centre in Clydebank, Scotland for any custom fitting?

I've had previous fittings at brand specific facilities but i want to go somewhere which will let me try a range of brands as I look for a new driver.

I've never used them before, I know there is a good driving range there but I wondered if they had trackman etc and had different shafts if you were going for custom fitting....

If anyone has any experience I'd be grateful for the feedback.

cheers

I got my irons and driver fitted there. Make sure you get Hugh to do the fitting. He's very good and knowledgeable.

As already stated, they use trackman to get the most accurate reading on your numbers. I was very pleased with the result to be honest.

They fitted my previous Mizunos and used the trackman but this time they didnt seem interested in helping so I ended up going to AG in Bearsden and the assistant manager Robert did my fitting, he was really thorough and didnt try to force me into buying anything there and then. Also gave me a good deal after I checked on a few places online

Bishopbriggs Golf Range another option worth thinking about. Paul or Matthew there both fit using trackman and it's a £40 fee but this comes off should you complete the purchase. I have lessons with Paul and he is top drawer and could not recommend highly enough.

used to go there a long time ago- was scruffy and badly run. I'm assuming its all improved if they use trackman now?

The range itself could do with a makeover but the shop has been refurbed, decent track man set up and they try and cut American Golf when possible on custom fit.

£40 for a fitting is a bit steep when AG do it for nothing, I refuse to pay money for a fitting as i feel it forces you into buying something when your old clubs might be doing the same job
