Booked one at the indoor golf centre in glasgow.

Just wanting to see what shafts suit me etc, unfortunatley wont be buying new irons :(.

Well not just now lol.

Will be hitting the ball against the screen which isnt the best however wont affect the outcome of the fit id imagine?

Anyone else had a fit session with the mizuno dna ???

Use the swing DNA as a starting point but be open to try other options as well. Been fitted twice using it and been happy with outcome.

Exactly this.

The shaft I have in my irons isn't what the machine recommended as both flight and spin were too high. Fitter recommended heavier shafts to get the numbers lower so gave the R300's a bash. Spin, launch and carry all improved so that's what I went with over the DNA suggestion.

My numbers were 71-4-1-2-1 with a 6 iron.

Is it just me, or does this seem a bit off. It's something I got accused of (perhaps rightly) and it isn't the done thing to go and try different clubs with no intention of buying. I had a mate who use to be manager at AG at Bird Hills in Maidenhead and so he had no issues with me rocking up and doing that but once he left, many on here thought it was out of order to just hit the clubs and shaft options with no intention to buy.

That said I have used the DNA and it is a pretty good tool to at least give a set of base numbers to be starting with

Is that the same irons you keep trying to replace? :D

If we are going to pick bones.... It was around the same time I was fitted for my amp driver which was originally a standard rip 55 stiff, after about 3 or 4 months an issue I had with my back was sorted, my swing speed increased and as such the driver needed an upgrade shaft to match the new found swing speed. Given I hadn't looked at irons in 2 years since the DNA fitting I thought it was time to look at these incase I was missing something... As it is it seems I'm not missing a lot although a custom fitting session Friday may uncover different results.

Ok pumpkin ;)

This is not what gets grief, the OP has been up front and quite prepare to pay for time spent having the fitting.
The complaints come when people have fittings expecting no charge and not intending to make a purchase.
 bob.

:sbox: odd socks calm down......

Bobirdie..I was fitted for my new Wilson D1000s at the indoor centre in portman street. This was arranged via our pro who is a Wilson
stockist and player.
Could'nt tell you what my figures were but the new shineys(collected today) were scoped at 1/2" shorter than standard and 2* flatter
---and they do feel comfortable;will just have to go up to the Mearns and practise loads..
OH YEAH,Scott got my name(and something else ..he tried to get'FUD' as my middle name)printed on the shaft labels--nice touchI thought!
Good luck with whatever you decide on--I hope they serve you well!

. Your pro isn't young Mr Garrett by any chance ?

Ended up taking your advice and punting it on ebay and buying another one @ 6.0.

Not tried it yet, hopefully get it on the course on sunday!

My 6.0 had a very good debut. 11 out of 14 fairways and very little distance lost even when catching it slightly out of the bottom.

A great bargain for £79. Btw, wise choice dumping the 6.5 unless you have a very high SS.

Interested to see how you get on with this ive been thinking about booking in myself just to see what the DNA says about what shafts i should be playing

Im currently playing the px 6.0 in my irons. Love the low spin with the high flight.

Good to find out if there is something better for you though lol.

Ged- i usually have quite a fast swing speed. Could be doing with slowing it down a tad and would never do that with the 6.5. I would lash at it every opportunity lol
