Our club had a callaway demo on tonight, so I went down to have a bit of a wallop. Turns out they had a Flightscope monitor, so I had a quick fitting and now I'm left knowing my driver and 5 wood are not the best for my swing (plus my swing speed is 105-110 - always good to know)

Guess I'd best search for a few hundred quid... Or at least some similar clubs on eBay.....

Well my 5 wood I knew because its an eBay cheapo regular flex, and I need a stiff flex.

The driver I'm using is 10 deg, and the one he had me hitting was 11.5 deg, better shaft and set to open. Much better launch and consistent flight. Would be my first fitted club, so the jump in performance is pretty massive. I'll have to try another session with my current one as I didn't have it with me, and have a sleep on it.

If Driver was set open and you were hitting it straight, then effective loft would have been less than 11.5 - as to square the face, you need to effectively de-loft the club to get it square - 0.6* for every degree face is open.

Does seem that the combo is better for you, though not taking your own club was probably a mistake - as it can be used for 'calibration'.

Try not to get duped in! Demos love to tell you clubs aren't right for you and then have you fork out for theirs !
