Cured the Hermans and shot personal best the day after.

Within 4 days I've gone from Zero to Hero in my eyes. :fore:

I've always suffered with the occasional spat of Shermans and over the last couple of months I've been having a few in every round, obviously confidence was at a rock-bottom as I know I can do better. It starts with me drawing the ball and then before I know it I'm piping it. (Taking club too far inside?)

I played a round on Sunday on a par 67 course (Short I know), And shot a decent front 9 and fell to pieces on the back 9 after my first Sherman turned into mayhem and I must have Piped 10-15 shots on the back 9. Walked away on the 15th seriously considering succumbing to booking my first ever golf lesson.

I decided to go to the driving range and try a few things. I Went Tuesday/Wednesday and focused completely on weight placement and taking the club more outside on the takeaway. Walked off feeling much better.

Played a round today after feeling improvement and shot a personal best. I didn't sherman once. Hopefully they never come back.

Todays round : 75, 8/18 GIR, 32 putts.

Mood: Feeling pro.

Had to tell somebody, sorry!

Well done mate, nothing worse than hitting a bad spell and not being able to correct it immediately on course.

My last 5 rounds my irons have been nothing but attrocious. I'd perfected a 90* slice with all of my irons so i strengthened my grip and now I'm hitting the ball properly again

I have been suffering from the same as well and tonight on the practise ground I think I worked out my shoulders are way too closed so hit a few 9 irons then a few drivers and hopefully Saturday I may shoot a decent round. Good on you and hope you have another good round next time out.

I think that attributed to my inside takeaway too. I was almost replicating a baseball swing I feel. Hopefully I can try and shoot sub-80 again. I'm sure your fix will be sooner than you think. Good luck with the round on saturday!

Cured? I don't think so!!

They've just had a day off! :p

Congrats on your PB

This!

Sorry, but its a skeleton in the closet that will force its way out eventually.

Nothing in this game is ever beaten/ mastered/ conquered etc

Good shooting though :)

aaaaaarghh - the word - DO NOT USE IT on a golf forum - Pleeeeeeze - I am suffering from them - and trying not to think about it and folks keep bringing the word up.
