Cryptic clue solvers wanted

OK boys and girls
I have a places/city/country quiz that I'm trying to do and a couple of the questions are driving me to distraction.

Anybody out there like crossword type puzzles?!

I have answers for them all - but here are the ones I am really not convinced about!

1. Holly left this one...

(this clue is followed by Whereas Frankie headed for here! which is Hollywood - the clues could be linked)

2. Better than your average house red

3. Every child's favourite vegetables!

I am awfull at cryptics - but ok with music. Holly (could be Johnson as the next one related to FGTH) was in 'Big in Japan' before FGTH.

In the unlikely event that inspriation hits me - I will keep thinking.......

oh Mattyboy - ur my hero! I had liverpool - but that makes more sense

Yes the specs live on. I still aim to get value for money from them. Boy, did I look cool going down the M1 this afternoon in them! Also, the bottles of Grants got home as well and are now proudly sitting in my bar.

I am not sure about the cryptic quiz answer, but cant think of anything better!

Lol - they are the best specs on the costa del golf!
I think its the right answer, it feels better than 'Liverpool'

Might pen in the answers now!
