Just perusing the news and come across the programme Crimewatch is being and after 33 years. Can think of dozens of programmes I would like to be axed before this goes. Falling viewers allegedly being blamed. Bet it still gets more viewers than some shows.

Used to watch it as a kid but haven't seen it for years.

There's probably a statistic somewhere which says how many crimes have been solved over the years as a direct result of them being featured on Crimewatch.

Strictly's audience has been very consistent over the same period, and is considerably higher than crime watches.

Hence my remark about the dancing. It's the "Ground Force" of this decade... keeps the nation's grannies glued to the TV!

It’s not just the grannies that are glued to the program

It’s one of the most popular programs on telly - highest ratings on a Saturday night and certainly watched by more than grannies

The only show I watch the BBC for and now its gone....bad times.

I really wish I didn't have to pay for that corrupt organisation.

I most certainly do watch Strictly:thup:

Really enjoyable telly

It's not being axed it's being moved to daytime TV so that the burglars can revel in the crimes cos they are never at home when it's shown at night.

I have the 'honour' getting a commendation from the local Chief Constable after taking a photo of someone at 'work' whose photo was recognised on Crimewatch. Funny bit about it was he stopped what he was doing and stared at me taking the photo so there was no doubt about who he was from the quality of the photo. Mind you I was 100 yards away with a telephoto lens so no risk of him chasing me down.
