Court case Ryder Cup team

Yeah.......expect most people on here have heard/seen that story.

I must say you have a rather strange way of posting, mainly what appears to be copy and paste from somewhere, which isn't all that interesting. Why not tell us what you think about it?

I agree, I cant believe Westwood had the audacity to wear those horrid orange dunlop trousers then poke fun at IJP designs. This could be a long drawn out saga and split the team right down the middle.

I think they can put it to one side. Rory is suing the management company NOT GMac. GMac is a witness for the management company, which he is also now leaving.

Don't see a problem.

I think it's a disaster but I just wanted to know what others thought about it , I would never in a million year put them in the same team never mind the ryder cup team.

They weren't picked, they qualified and I'm pretty sure McGinley is fully aware of the situation and knows what is best for the team. If they play together, it will be because they are OK with it and if they aren't OK, they won't play. This is Mickleson trying to unsettle Europe, nothing more, nothing less.

There was a show on local tv here in Northern Ireland last night where McIlroy, McDowell and Darren Clarke were interviewed by a presenter. There certainly didn't appear to be any animosity between them and I think both McDowell and McIlroy are professional enough to make sure that whatever is going on with the court case is kept well away from Gleneagles this week.

They have to play as a team or the foursomes is lost

Some very strange posts from you, either cutting and rehashing old and worn news or some wild and frankly outrageous comments. Plenty of good pairings without having to put them together and both have been at pains to stress there is no animosity. Put the bait and rod away or try a damn sight harder

Like people have said he isn't directly suing McDowell so not a major issue as some are making out. Sportsmen should be able to play with each other even if they dislike each other as at the end of the day they are professionals and winning is the main priority. I know its a team event but there is plenty of scope for them not to actually play together.

It did make me laugh when Mickelson brought it up though.

Maybe one of the Europeans should say "Considering Phil and his 27 protégés are playing high stakes skins matches on a regular basis you would think they could hack the pressure by now"

Not very welcoming to a new poster. Maybe not everyone feels they have to comment on everything

I don't think they'll play together, but not because of the law suit, purely because their previous Ryder Cup record isn't very good.

It was a good idea when McIlroy needed looking after, but I think he's past that now. :)

I understand the Gmac and Rory are still very good friends. I could be wrong but did Gmac not hang around and cheer Rory home after the PGA win last month?
