Played with a couple of Dornoch members at the weekend and we got talking about course designs etc and we all thought that we would love to see some of the top Pro's play Royal Dornoch.

Its only 6700 off the blue but a par 70 SSS of 74, i think it would still be a challenge.

It will never happen as there is no infrastructure or accommodation up there.

So which course would you like to hold a tournament that doesn't at the moment and why?

I'd like to see them go back to St Mellion.
They held the B&H there years ago but it was widely rumoured that the Pros complained it was too tricky....
Also Wycombe Heights, purely to see how short a club they would take on the last...
Its about 350 yards but down a steep slope all the way to the green.
I've hit it with a 5 wood..I expect they'd hit a 5 iron....

Good shout. I wonder how changes in technology would make a difference to the way they tackle it now. It didn't have a good reputation amongst the pros when the B&H was there and wonder how much of an influence that was back in the day to stop playing it there

Secret Tour Pro on Twitter was kind of talking about this in the other way around. Saying that a mid handicapper wouldn't be able to break 130 round Chambers Bay and lose a lot of balls. It's an interesting point. I'd love them to play my course. Probably green most of the holes with an iron and get bored halfway round lol.

Agreed - I played with a Europro Tour player around my wee 9-holer. He was hardly trying ( even he said his game needed a lot of work) and he lipped out for 5 birdies in a row.

Would love to see them play Trump Aberdeen (on TV) so that I can pick up some tips for the GM trip....

Same as most replies, I'd love a tour pro, to play my home course. I'd love to see someone like Rory, Bubba or Dustin take on the 6th. The 6th is a dog leg left 90 degrees, everyone hits up to the apex and takes two to the green, the option is over some trees. From the yellows it possible with a good drive to make the fairway (the green line) from the whites, us average Joes have no chance, but the pros I would imagine could make the green.

The red line is the normal line taken, about 200yds to the apex and depending on whether you've gone left or right will leave you around plus or minus 200 yds to the green, the blue line, as the crow flies, not sure how far that is, but I reckon the pros could make it easy.

I'd imagine for most of our normal/members courses, in spite of how tight and rough strewn they are, to us, the top pro's would absolutely murder them.

A lad from my club went round the Players in Bristol, in a Jamega tour event, in 63 (9 under) a course record, 65 (7 under) around S&A in the boys Am, and 65 for another course record of 7 under around Little Aston.
He's only an 18 yo amateur, so imagine what the big boys would do!?!

Hi scores at a bog standard members club, not going to happen

Tour stars might play your course 100 times and never be over par, golf is hard for us but for them, your course is there to give them a shot at 59s and better not struggle to play to par or shoot a high number.

Would like to see them play Downfield as I had what was undoubtedly my best ever ball striking round there in a comp
