I have the pleasure of being in London for 4 days next week and wondered where there is to play around the Herne Hill area, likely to be twilight golf any recommendations

Jump on the train from there to Mitcham Junction (about 10-15 minutes) and there is a golf course right at Mitcham Junction train station.

Beckenham Place Park is not a bad layout but couldn't comment on condition, long while since I played it. Have you got transport or are you stuck on the trains? If so, I'd second Mitcham, greens are normally very good.

My track at Dulwich & Sydenham Hill is just few minutes from Herne Hill and is open to non-members in the week. Not a long course but a decent test. Would offer to give you a game but am in Greece at present.

I past mitcham yesterday, it's looked in stunning condition.
Another vote here for Mitcham. Not a long course but tricky in places and quality greens
