Hi guys

I have to arrange a game this coming Wednesday evening in Warrington (WA5 post code) for work.

I have never played in this area, so thought I would ask for some advice

It only needs to be a 4 ball, and will be early evening (5-6 ish tee off) preferably with buggy access and including buggy costs around £30 per person.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

I played Birchwood GC a few weeks ago and quite liked it. Short but quirky. Was in good condition and the greens were decent. Reasonable price as well IIRC.

Warrington Golf Club (a nice track) is on the opposite side of the town from WA5.

Ashton in Makerfield while not WA5 is over that way, isn't a bad course, not sure about buggy hire though, or maybe Birchwood.

I worked in Warrington for a while some years ago. Not actually a great deal of choice without quite a bit of travel!

However, Birchfield was definitely a 'local' choice as was Walton Hall - top notch Muni (though a bit soggy in Winter - not relevant for you).

I think I actually ended up frequenting Lymm more though, as much for the quality of the fish-cakes at a local eatery (now changed to a Tapas place!) as for the high quality of the course!

Birchfield? Or Birchwood?

Warrington do have buggies for hire.
As Louise says other side of the river to WA5.
It is in cracking condition at the moment and always enjoyable to play, I am a member but not biased!!

Our place is in great nick at the minute.... Great test and the greens as good as you will find. But Lymm and Warringtin are across town from wa5. I actually live In Wa5 and the closest 2 are Mersey Valley, not great, but improving and Blundell Hills that I haven't played, but has a good reputation.
That said, you won't go wrong with Lymm and if you call ahead in advance, they will sort you buggies out....
