Courses in Manchester

Looking for any recommendations of Courses in Manchester to play?

Already played a few places like Heaton Park and Didsbury which I really enjoyed but wondered if there was anywhere else worthy of a visit in the next few weekends? So many to choose from.

Theres Manchester GC ive not played it but some forum members did couple weeks ago and rated it highly..

courses ive played and recommend are Ellesmere,Sale,Bury,Stand,Withington and if its recovered from the wet weather Chorlton-cum-Hardy few for you to go at and sure others will bring more up :thup:

Cheers, I've played Ellsmere although on a very wet winters day with temporary greens and fairway mats. Heard very good things about Stand!

Turton GC.

Not really Manchester more Bolton on your way out to Blackburn but I think it's a lovely course.

I really miss Turton and the members there are excellent.

It's a real test so take plenty of balls.

There is a few I played Brookdale last Friday which growing on me its a tough walk. Flixton which is a nice 9 hole course also Fairfield. Have you thought about courses around the Stockport area Hazel Grove, Bramall, Bramhall Park, Stockport and Davenport all within a few miles of each other.

I played Brookdale about a month ago and wasn't that impressed, some holes were very interesting whilst others lacked anything interesting to them.

I was a member of North Manchester for many years growing up - always enjoyed that course.

It's only a stones throw from Heaton Park.

Denton is a well worth a visit, you need to come back to mine too, its in nice shape now.

Reddish Vale is a nice course, as is Hazel Grove

Dunham Forest is one of the better courses of the area. Even snow can't drench the course.
