Course recommendations please

It's my old man's birthday next week and I would like to treat him to a round of golf somewhere nice as a present.

To give you a bit of background, I live in West Kent and he lives in Bath, so we could do somewhere inbetween (Surrey area or further south towards Hampshire) or near to where either of us live would be ideal.

Nowhere too snobby if possible, but I would like it to feel special. I wouldn't want to pay more than £100 per person for a day ticket though.

I played at Worplesdon earlier this year, and it's a very nice course, but I thought New Zealand Golf Club had a more special atmosphere to it when I played there the year before. Hopefully that gives you something to go on!

3 courses down my way are all top notch, Parkstone Ferndown and Broadstone. Also close by is Remedy Oak but I wouldn't want to walk 36 round there, it's a long slog!

Surrey you have amazing choice, the 3 W's all back onto each other and my order of choice would be West Hill, Worplesdon then Woking.

So many to choose from....good luck.

Thank Drive4show - I'm quite tempted by West Hill. Looks very nice indeed. Worplesdon is also excellent, but I've already played there once this year.

Top of my list geographically would be Hankley, being on the Surrey Hampshire border. Alternatively Liphook.

If you are prepared to venture into deepest Surrey, then I agree with Gordon on the three W's. If you go to West Hill mention you are on the forum, and Gina and Jane will look after you.
